Building my barber journey in London.

- The beginning of a big story.
I didn’t become a barber because I simply wanted a job.
It started because I knew exactly how frustrating it felt to leave a haircut disappointed.
For a long time in London, I struggled to find someone who could give me the haircut I actually wanted.
Then during a trip to Ukraine, my brother booked me into a barbershop.
For the first time, I walked out with exactly the haircut I had imagined.
That experience changed everything.
I realised how much a great haircut can change the way someone feels about themselves.
My name is Nazar. I’m from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and I’m building my barber career in London.
The idea of becoming a barber started from my own frustration.
I often left haircuts in London disappointed. I felt like the person cutting my hair didn’t completely understand what I wanted.
Eventually I reached the point where I didn’t even want to get a haircut because I expected to be disappointed again.
Everything changed when I visited Ukraine and my brother booked me into a barbershop.
For the first time, I got the haircut I had always imagined.
That experience made me realise something important:
A great haircut isn’t only about hair. It can completely change how confident someone feels.
When I returned to London, I started looking for someone who could properly teach me barbering. The search took almost 1.5 years.
But during that time my interest didn’t disappear. It became stronger.
Eventually, one day, I simply bought my own clippers and decided to cut my brother’s hair. I had no professional experience. But the result came surprisingly close to what I had imagined in my head.
That was the moment I realised: this is what I want to do.
Every haircut teaches me something. Every client helps me improve. And I’m continuing to build my own standard of quality.
My goal
Make people happy. Give confidence back to people who lost it because of a bad haircut. And build a career doing something I genuinely enjoy.
